Drain Cleaning Helper
Responsibilities
The drain cleaner helper provides support to experienced drain cleaners in performing tasks related to drain cleaning and maintenance
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
The drain cleaner helper assists in the setup, operation, and cleanup of equipment and tools used for drain cleaning services
Assist experienced drain cleaners in inspecting and diagnosing drain blockages and plumbing issues
Help set up and assemble drain cleaning equipment, such as power snakes, jetters, and cameras, ensuring they are in proper working condition
Carry tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites, ensuring they are organized and readily accessible
Assist in preparing work areas, including protecting floors, walls, and surrounding surfaces from potential damage during drain cleaning operations
Retrieve and deliver tools, replacement parts, and supplies as needed during drain cleaning tasks
Operate drain cleaning equipment under the guidance and supervision of experienced drain cleaners
Assist in the cleanup of debris, water, and waste materials after drain cleaning operations, ensuring proper disposal
Clean and maintain drain cleaning tools and equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines
Observe and learn from experienced drain cleaners to enhance knowledge and skills in drain cleaning techniques
Communicate effectively with team members, providing assistance and support as required
Follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to company safety guidelines
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in tight spaces
Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and familiarity with drain cleaning tools and equipment
Strong work ethic and the ability to learn from experienced drain cleaners
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and under supervision
Willingness to comply with company policies, safety guidelines, and industry regulations
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if required for transportation to job sites)
